Auto Level

How to set up an Auto Level instrument:

1. Make sure you have a calibrated auto level, A Tripod, and a Levelling Staff.
2. Set up your tripod by stepping on the tripod’s legs to fix it into the ground and level it accurately, depending on the type, either roughly or accurately set to a leveled condition using foot screws (leveling screws).
3. Attach auto level on the Tripod.
4. Adjust the level to get the bubble in the Center position.
5. Adjust recital until crosshairs are clear.
6. Adjust the objective lens until the object you are sighting on is clear.
7. Measurement generally starts from a benchmark with a known height determined by a previous survey, or an arbitrary point with an assumed height.
8. Now your Auto Level is ready to operate.

2. An auto level has an internal compensator mechanism that adjusts the line of sight automatically.
3. For staff reading, no specific adjustment is required, and from the eyepiece, you can easily see the actual reading.
4. From any side, any angle, & with any 3 screws, the bubble can be adjusted.
5. An auto Level has a higher leveling accuracy & the results are very reliable when compared to the Total Station survey or DGPS Survey.
